Shubox
Get rid of your Finishing Bottleneck.
With the Schubox IR Curing booth.
01
Flameless = Safety
The Schubox is a completely flameless chemical reaction. The temperature and gas volumes will never get to a place where combustion of any kind can happen. It has been completely certified by OSHA, UL, and CE as flame free and safe to use in a finishing environment.
03
We maintain a low temperature inside the box
This protects the sensitive substrates and keeps the glue joints in wood or veneer from opening, swelling, or warping. This means you can keep parts in the Schubox for 30 minutes or 3 hours and the parts will be just fine.
05
Reflective Interior allows parts to be placed anywhere inside the box.
This allows incredible flexibility to place any part anywhere in the Schubox. There is no need to keep parts in the middle or to make sure all the panels are directed properly to get an even cure. This also allows you to put parts close together and maximize the space inside the booth.
02
Why Long Wave Infrared?
The long wave IR penetrates the coating and forces the coating to cure from the bottom up. Typical convection ovens and open-air cure are all top-down cure forcing the coatings to pass through the film that forms at the top making it a much slower processing time. Bottom-up curing is a big deal.
04
VOC oxidation
When using a solvent based paint or coating this is a chemical process, we can use the off gassing of that coating to maintain the IR emission. The emitters convert the harmful VOC into water vapor and carbon dioxide. It also oxidizes the smell. One of the most common types of feedback we get is how dramatically different the smell is in the finishing room.
06
What Paint does it work on?
The Schubox can cure any paint. It will cure conversion varnish, pre-catalyzed and post-catalyzed lacquer, water-based coatings, Urethanes, glass coatings, metal coatings, plastic coatings.
Since it is using Infrared to cure rather than heat you can't over-cure the parts. Leaving them in longer than needed will not deteriorate or hurt the part.
